About Nevada McPherson

Originally from Georgia, I lived in New Orleans for nearly fifteen years, and have now returned to GA, where I enjoy doing yoga, going for walks, taking pictures, & painting when I’m not keeping my husband Bill and Chihuahua Mitzi out of trouble.

I attended Valdosta State College (now university) before getting married, and running off to Louisiana, where I received my BA in English/ Creative Writing and later graduated from LSU’s MFA Screenwriting Program. In addition to my transgressive/ neonoir book series, the Eucalyptus Lane novels from Outcast Press, I’ve written many screenplays (mostly quirky & character driven, some award-winning), created graphic novels, short fiction (including the short story “Scattershot” in Starlight Pulp Review #2, and “Egyptomania” in Twisted Pulp Magazine) & nonfiction articles, interviews, a couple of stage plays, and countless to-do lists.

I write and vlog about books, film, and pop culture at the Backstage Blog, and will be posting more soon about the upcoming Eucalyptus Lane novel, Baller.

While living in New Orleans, I taught at Nunez Community College, where I founded the Pelican d’Or Short Film Festival to showcase the funny and poignant videos students were creating. As an adjunct faculty fellow at Tulane’s School of Continuing Studies, I taught courses in screenwriting and film, and now teach Composition, literature and Creative Writing at Georgia Military College, where I’m a professor of English.

About Poser, first of the Eucalyptus Lane Novels

When I first got the book I didn’t expect to end up listing it in my top favorite transgressive fiction. Blunt and real. I couldn’t stop reading.
